There is no single correct height

The right height keeps faces large enough while protecting the camera and maintaining the required scene. Doorways often need a different height than parking lots or warehouses.

Test before final fastening

  • View a person at the target distance.
  • Check hats and hooded faces.
  • Test the night image.
  • Confirm ladders or lifts can service the camera safely.

Avoid steep angles

A very high camera aimed sharply downward may capture movement but lose facial detail. Add a lower identification view where necessary.
